Before the park was built, the old artillery barracks were located here. With its area of 70 acres, it pleases the eye with its young trees and abundance of flowers. On hot summer days, the largest fountain in the city becomes an attractive place for the residents of Stara Zagora. The refreshing drops of water spraying by it are joyful for anyone spending time in the park. Here you can find the quietest Zen place in the city – the Japanese lake with the obligatory fish and water lilies therein. The park is suitable for sports – there are long bike lanes, football, volleyball playgrounds and tennis courts, as well as street fitness facilities. There is a stage in the park for small stage performances, as well as a green classroom. The walk here will not be complete if you do not pass by the aviary with the exotic birds rescued by the Wildlife Rescue Centre. The southernmost part of the park is full of outdoor art spaces. Poets, artists, musicians can create and make their fans happy. And very soon, a new attractive skate park will delight the extreme sports fans.
